Purpose: The Isaac Cummings Family
Association was established in the fall of 1996 by a small group of Isaac
Cummings descendants:
To develop, preserve, and exchange information on Isaac Cummings history
and genealogy in the United States and Europe.
To promote further research across the seas to determine the origin of
Isaac Cummings and to make a direct connection to the Clan "Comyn" of Scotland.
To search for Cummings artifacts and other items of interest to the family
historian and to try to determine who has the oldest portrait/photo of
a Cummings ancestor.
To develop an organizational charter that would outlive any one single
member. The organization could file for non-profit status and to
raise funds that could be used, for example, to assure the maintenance
of our ancestor's burial sites, to generate scholarship(s) for Cummings
descendants of need or ability.
To place a statue, memorial or some other structure in Topsfield, MA to
pay honor to Isaac Cummings as a pioneer of the area.
To assure that those Cummings ancestors/descendants who fought honorably
for this Country are so recognized during Veteran's Day.
Membership: Open to any and all descendants
of Isaac Cummings, 1601-1677, of Ipswich/Topsfield, MA.
The membership year coincides with the calendar year and dues are Fifteen
Dollars ($15.00) for an individual membership, or Twenty Dollars ($20.00)
for a family membership, which includes husband, wife and children under
the age of eighteen (18) years of age. Members who join during the
membership year pay dues for the entire year and will receive all ICFA
publications (Cummings Chronicles) and other benefits of membership
for the entire year. New members dues received after 31 October will
be good for all of the following year. The money received from dues
will be used to help defray the cost of printing and postage costs as well
as any other expense which may be involved in operating this association.
Members become delinquent and are placed on the inactive list if annual
dues are not received by the end of January. They will not receive
any publications for the new year until dues have been paid.
Benefits of membership include a subscription to the newsletter,
genealogical inquires, and any other services which may be available.
Please direct membership inquiries to our Membership Chair:

Publications: The Isaac Cummings
Family Association publishes a newsletter, Cummings Chronicles,
four times each year, currently in the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter,
to provide a forum for historical discussion and query while maintaining
a "network" of Isaac Cummings descendants and researchers.
Back issues cost $3.00. Members are encouraged to assist the Editor
through submission of any appropriate information or articles for publication.
Back issues of the newsletter are available from the Editor:

Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) when making
these requests.
Genealogical Inquires: It is
our desire to develop a master Isaac Cummings descendants database beginning
with placing the 1903 and/or 1904 Cummings genealogies on PAF or another
GEDCOM file format and adding to the database as family information becomes
available. Members may forward queries to the Data Base Chairperson:
Clint Cummings

clintc@atlantic.net
Members are encouraged to forward their lineages as they are updated
and corrected when they learn and verify more about their line of descent.
Queries can also be posted to the Cummings
Genealogy Forum on GenForum.
Bi-Annual Reunions: The
Association sponsors Bi-Annual Reunions to conduct business and provide
social opportunities where we may exchange applicable information and form
family friendships with other members. Our next Reunion will be in
2003 - watch for news!
